Hello Archilearners!!馃檶
I´m Dolores and this week I´m the journalist of ArchiTeachers!!
As every week, before Monday we had read the information about the task. This week our mission was to see how to do a good presentation and how to use free and legal information.
On Monday our teacher Linda explained the different kinds of licenses and we changed our roles.
Carmen Albaladejo would be the star, Mar铆a del Mar analyst, Carmen D铆az curator, Rajae facilitator, M陋 脕ngeles translator, and M陋 脕ngela the "joker".
As we had to prepare two different presentations we divided the work.
Carmen Albaladejo and I prepared the presentation about the digestive system, which she, as star would show on Wednesday
And the rest of the group was in charged of the other presentation.
So on Monday afternoon we search information about our topic.
Carmen D铆az searched about how to deliver a presentation, M陋 del Mar about how to prepare it, M陋 脕ngeles about how to design it, M陋 脕ngela general information and  Rajae about the licenses.
Carmen Albaladejo and me, didn´t search for information but we thought how we would do our presentation and possible ways of showing the digestive system in an original and creative way, using metaphor such as a "Got Talent Casting" to represent the Small Intestine.
On Tuesday we shared the information and we started to actually make both presentations. However first they told Carmen and me how we should do a great presentation.

We had a big problem while preparing the presentation of the digestive system, when we had finished all the work, we found out that the images that we had used were not public domain, and we had to do it all again.

By the end of the afternoon we had finished both presentations and Carmen was ready to her performance!

The Wednesday came and it was the turn of Carmen to shine explaining the digestive system!

Our classmates did an amazing work!!

Fishers in the river explained the Water Cycle 馃寠

Spiky teachers explained the classification if the instruments.

  Flowerpower explained the senses.

Ladies and Gentlemen explained the pluricelular organisms.

 Wildcats explained The Prehistory

Starfish explained feelings and emotions. With a great performance!!

Spacers explained the Solar System☀

The super teachers explained healthy habits.

It has been a hard week because we had to prepare more than one project. Every week we work better as we know more each other and we know how to develop everyone´s capabilities!
And today as every Friday we write all our experience here.

I have visited the Mr. P´S ICT blog, it´s full of practical experiences about ICT at school (http://mrparkinsonict.blogspot.com.es/2012/11/a-running-list-of-tried-and-tested-ipad.html)

And the blog of Spiky Teachers to congratulate them for the great performance of Wednesday!

See you soon Archilearners 馃懛馃敤

Have a nice week!!

Hellooo! I am Rajae the facilitator of this week, well 馃槉... Actually, this was the role that was assigned to me by luck but my partners are very dynamic, creative, talkative and full of energy i am really impressed and thankful to work with them. This is the reason why i did not play a role as a facilitator, because they had such clear ideas that were better than mine from my point of view(they looked as real leaders馃槏), at the point i forgot the roles' stuff i only focused on what they were saying.  It was incredible! when i am with this group the time stops馃槃.

First, on Mondays, two of us were reading the article in order to make sure for the task we have to develop this week and in the meanwhile she was telling us what she was reading, after that between all of us we divided the work:

-3 architeachers had to work with tips for an excellent presentation and  1 architeacher with CC Licenses for creating a slideshare.

-The two architeachers  were preparing the content that the star has to show on Wednesday.

Finally, we put all in common and was the time of listening our star to rehearse , but unfortunately i was not there, with the permission of the group of course. But i could see her on Wednesday , and she was awesooome! i really enjoyed her presentation just as a kid.

See you next week!馃檵

馃搱 A N A L Y S T

Hey guys, it's the analyst, Maria del Mar Fernandez Rodriguez.
This week I have to be the analyst of the group, and I am very anxious to express my thoughts about the way of working we are using and how to improve them.
First of all, I want to describe some characteristics that need to be standed out from Architeachers' way of working:
- As we are a big group (7 people), we decided to work in small teams. To form the groups, we paid attention to the compatibility among us from the intelectual point of view, ir order to increase our efficiency and reduce the errors. Using this method, we care for the diversity as all the members in the group have very different skills, and this is lovely as we form an heterogeneous group. As a result, we observe that this characteristic provides us stability in the group, as well as, it makes possible the equitable and equal participation of all the members.

- In addiction, we used to look for an active and diverse methodology for contributing to the creative part of the tasks and to find the best way to work or develop them. For this fact, we follow some steps: we make a plan for the team and, after that, we make a brainstorm trying to enrich as much as possible with different ideas, that is, if we produce many ideas of a topic and we are limited, we make an effort to group them. We try to do this, also, to achieve a simultaneous interaction.

- Nevertheless, we are very concern about the idea of being a team, so the roles help us a lot providing us independence and higher efficacy. Also, we never forget the personal and individual engagement, as what we do will have an effect on the rest of the group. Moreover, if any member of the group need some support we will be there to help her, despite the roles.

Those characteristics mentioned make us succed and gives us the opportunity to put into practice our knowledge from past and actual courses as Planning, Investigation, Psychology and Diversity. For example, the idea to work in small cooperative groups comes from planning, the stablishment of following a team plan and setting objectives to develop  the activity comes from investigation and, the last but not least, regarding to the different tips to make an excellent slideshare, it is very important to play with emotions, that means, we used some theoretical knowledge from psychology to play with the espectator's emotions. So, we are going to maintain them trying to improve at the end of the task. At the end of the task, we revised lightly the full work and I reckon that it would be amazing to revise it deeper as a group and not individually, as we do.

In the case of this task, the best part of this activity was to be a bit closer to the real primary contents (Digestive System). And as we learned to respect the others rights with the Creative Common Licences, in my opinion, the worst part of this task was to pay attention in every movement we use a photo, mainly, to prevent from infringement any law as it is very difficult to find free pics.
Althought it was a bit difficult, we learned a lot about this daily topic as we can find it in every movement or action we do. For example, it is very important to respect copyright when we do an official project as the Final Grade Projet at the university or, even when we are carrying out an investigation. Also, it is not only on the educational area, as I've already mentioned, we can find it when we make any profile in a social network or even YouTube, where you cannot use any song from other person unless you won't obtain any economic remuneration and pointing out the author of the song.

Finally, I want to remark a quote from Michael Jordan about the well functioning of a group:

'' Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships ''

- Michael Jordan, 1992.

See you! 馃槝馃懛

馃専 S T A R

Hi, ArchiLearners!!馃檵
My name is Carmen Albaladejo and this week I am ArchiTeachers´star 馃専. As we do every weeek, on Monday we distribute the roles and I was very lucky 馃檲because I chose the star´s paper. But once I have chosen the paper I realized that it was a good task to be the star because you could choose the topic which you are going to talk about and this makes me feel more comfortable and relax, but not too much.
We decided to talk about the Digestion process because all of us wanted to explain a topic related with science and it seemed easy and interesting at the same time.
The "great day" came, it is Wednesday again so I have to do my presentation in front of the WHOLE class in only 4 minutes⌛so it was quiet difficult to do a good explanation in this time. At the beginning I was really nervous because I am not used to talking in front of a lot of people but my nerver got bigger when my time arrived.馃晲
Once I was in front of the class I was able to control my nerves and explained to them the "Digestive System". I was really thankful with my classmates because they were smiling to me and I feel that they paid attention to my explanation. Moreover, I feel really proud with the others members of my group said to me that I have done a good work.
So, my experience as ArchiTeachers´star 馃専has been better than I expected.

I hope you have enjoyed the post and we are waiting to you here next week. Have a nice weekend, ArchiLearners!!馃敤馃槉

If you want to see our presentation you have to read our post called "THE TASK".

馃摉 T R A N S L A T O R

Hello everyone, I am M陋 脕ngeles Alonso and I am the translator in this week. Hope you enjoy it. ☝

This week we have been working on Free Resources and visual presentations. As you know from anothers weeks, I am going to cause a definition for the keywords of this task.

✔️ Copyright (C): is the right of the author in order to say who can use is work and in which way.

✔️ Creative Commons (CC): are statements in which the authorship is declared according to different tools for the future use of works. Thus, people can use other people's work in a non-commercial way if the author wants, he or she is who decides the future use of his or her work.

✔️ Creative Commons Zero (CC0): this is one of the CC's tools. If the work is marked with CC0, you can use the work as you want, you can modify it and use it in a commercial way due to the fact that this is for public domain dedication.

✔️ Good presentation: is the key to explain a topic. The type of presentation varies according to the audience it is presented to. There are some tips which are necessary:

1- Eye contact

2- Adequate use of animations

3- Complements (tables, graphics)

4- Clarity with white spaces

5- Be (or try to be) short

6- Use remote-controls

✔️ Human digestive system: is formed by the organs that are in charge of transforming the food so that it can be used by the cells.

馃懛 T H E T A S K

Hi Archilearners! We are already on the fourth week with the fourth task. This new one consists of the management of educational resources respecting others rights, that means, we were asked to do two slideshares in order to, on the one hand,we had to make a ''self-slideshare'', that means for us a slideshare which doesn't require any support to be understood about Creative Common License and tips for an excellent presentation. On the other hand, we had to present a topic from science subject for students at fourth grade in primary school.

At the beginning, we have divided the first slideshare into two parts: Creative Common License and 20 tips for an excellent presentation.

What is CC Licenses? It is a simple way of sharing that enables the author decide the legal permissions to others about how can they use his creative work. The different license conditions are:

Attribution: Let others to use freely the material(remix, distribute even commercially...) as long as

the credit of the author is included.

Non-Commercial: The author does not let others to use the work commercially until they ask for permission.

Non-Derivatives: The owner of the work does not let others to modify the work until they ask for permission.

Sharing alike: They can use the author's work as long as they distribute the modified work under the same terms.

20 tips for an excellent presentation.

  • How to prepare it?
The most important aspect to develop any project is to structure the work, establishing objectives to reach, as well as, dividing the whole work as rigorous as possible for not to let any aspect out and control everything. In addiction, time is essential so, we should distribute it as it is limited.
Our exposition will be directed for a specific audience. As a result, we may know how they are and their interests to catch their attention.
Regarding the development process, it is very important to specify WHERE and WHEN we are going to carry out the work. In our case, we are from different parts, so it is crucial to have a great organization for not to die. We put all the ideas together and establish an outline on Monday and on Tuesday it's time to work hard and finish the entire task.
Nevertheless, those aspects wouldn't have any sense whether the content is not solid, that is, the task should have a theoretical foundation to contribute to ensure people that the information given is accurate and truthful. Also, it must be adequate to the audience, in this case, we would use a very simple vocabulary for children.
Finally, at the time of exposition it is decisive to take into account that it is a unique moment to be glorious and cause a great impression on the audience, that means, marketing is not an aspect for only economic issues as it also take part in this process used for engage the spectators.

  • How to design it?
In order to prepare a presentation there are many aspects to keep in mind according to the design.

The first aspect to keep in mind is the clarity of the slide, there must be order and white space between the elements.

The second aspect is related to the first one due to the fact that the best presentations are simple with no words.

The third aspect is related to the animations, the use of those is entertaining but not if it is excessive. Wipe left to right is ok but not fly or move the words.

The fourth aspect is according to the use of images, real images are better because they are closer to the emotions. As well as, depending of the importance of the images, it can be more or less dim.

The fifth aspect to keep in mind is the originality, it is better to do not use the common pattern.

The sixth aspect is related to the complements, in this case tables and graphics. They must be used as a complement because it cannot add any new information.

The seventh aspect is the use of colors, a cold color is better for the background and a warm color is better for the letter.

The eighth aspect is according to the letter, the same type of letter must be used.

The ninth aspect is related to the sixth, but in this case, is appropiated the use of short videos and gifts.

The tenth aspect to keep in mind is the logic between the slides.

  • How to deliver it?

- It is very important to be passionate when you explain your presentation, you need to know your content and show enthusiasm. By showing passion and enthusiasm you connect with the audience. Believe in yourself and be confident.
- Start strong: the first impressions are the most important ones, so start your presentation with strength.
- Be short, it is very important to be brief and clear.
- Move from the stage in order to approach to your audience, the connection is crucial.
- Use remote- controls. This will help you to get closer to your audience and advance the slides from a relative distance.
- "B" key. If you press this key the screen will go blank, this is positive because you can click the key while you are presenting, making the audience pay you more attention.
- Eye contact:  look at individuals and not at the group. Do not look at the computer too much, maintain eye contact and try to smile.
- Lights: try to balance the light of the room with the light of the presentation. You need to be seen.
- Be polite, professional, confident, attentive, and pleasing, thank your audience when they ask you questions.

  •  General tips
Apart from the advice we have mentioned, we will also show you some other tips so that you can make a good presentation and your viewers do not get bored looking at it and also find it interesting.

People who are watching your presentation should be able to understand it easily.

Just looking a few seconds they should understand the message perfectly.

The slideshare should be simple and not have:  strange words, too many graphics and images.

A good presentation should have large scale so that people sitting at the end of the room can see the presentation clearly.

You should use the same color palette, and also the slides should have the same style.

Use caution when using sliding objects (do not put many of them).

You can use white spaces around important information to highlight it
The slide should appear created by the same person and and also the media

  • Then, we have made the slideshare for presenting on Wednesday about the digestive system
Good morning everyone!!
As you can remember, we are studying the nutrition process and last week I explained the respiratory system, do you have any question about that?Okay, today we are going to focus on the digestive system.
Fist of all, what is digestion and why it is important? The digestive system allows us to get the nutrients we need from the food which we eat, for example, an apple. An apple is full of nutrients some of them are water, vitamins, minerals and also fibre so we through the digestion process are able to obtain these nutrients by eating an apple. Moreover, digestion is important because it allows us to transform food into energy which we can use to do whatever, to play any sports, to play an instrument, to be able to pay attention during lessons and so on.
Now, we are going into the digestive system.Firstly, I am going to label the different organs that compose it and after I am going to give you a brief explanation about what  happens in each of them.
The digestive system is composed by:
- Mouth
-Oesophagus
-Stomach
-Small intestine
-Large intestine
-Anus
We are going to start explaining what happens in the mouth. In the MOUTH is where begins, there the food is crushed in order to make swallow easier after. You can understand the mouth as a mixer in which you put different fruits such as oranges, strawberries and then you turn it on. Finally you obtain a dough in which you are not able to distinguish where is the orange and where is the stawberry.
Once the food has been crushed, it goes to the stomach through the OESOPHAGUS. The oesophagus is basically a tube that connects the mouth with the stomach. It also can be understood as a slide.
Now, the food has arrived to the STOMACH. there it mix with the acids produced by the stomach. You can image the stomach like a kneader.
Then the food goes through the SMALL INTESTINE in which a "casting" takes place. In the "casting" nutrients are selected while the waste is rejected. The nutrients that have been selected pass to the blood which is in charge of transporting them to all our body cells.
Those which have not been selected pass to the LARGE INTESTINE, you can called the as the "losers corridor" which conducted them to the ANUS that throws them away from our body. It is the moment when the process ends.

Here we leave you the presentation.
