📖 T R A N S L A T O R

Hello everyone!! I am Carmen Díaz and this week I am in charge of this role.🙌
We are nearly finishing this course, and I am really happy, but a bit sad too, because this is ending.😕

I like this role because you have to make a reflection about the task in order to select the most appropriate five concepts. I hope that these concepts help you understand better a Personal Learning Environment.

  •  Personal Learning Environment (PLE): A PLE is different for every single person, because it is something of your own, that you create and you shape day by day. It is made up of different elements, such as; activities, learning strategies, reflections, sources of information and resources. a PLE is really important because it is what you use to learn, all of the things that you put together in order to learn new things. So it is what you normally use in your day by day to learn, like sources of information (internet, books, experts...), who do you learn from, where do you usually learn, your own organization or planning, and so on. So, it is like your planning in order to learn (the steps that you follow). It also includes your objectives, your goals, your reflections and all of the processes involved.
  •  Sources of information: sources of information are very important for your PLE, because they will determine your knowledge in some way. The more wider and different sources you use, the more information you can get, so you can contrast them, and, therefore your knowledge would increase.
Some sources are: books, experts, family, peers, teachers, internet (articles, journals, videos, news, essays, dictionary, free books, and so on), mobile phone  (applications), newspapers...
  •  Reflection: reflections are a meaningful way of improving your processes, objectives, goals, and therefore, your PLE.
By reflecting you think critically, you evaluate yourself, you compare what you are doing with what you want to do,  what you want to get, or how far you want to go.
We must reflect in order to improve our actions, our goals.
Reflecting about our PLE means that we know what we are doing, how we are doing it, what we are using for it, and how far we want to go.
  • Lacks: after we reflect, we need to think about what things or actions we are missing, what we need to include in order to improve our PLE, and therefore, ourselves. We can ALWAYS improve, so that means that we will probably always have lacks in something, so the best way to know this is to reflect and think about what things do you need in order to improve.
  •  Technology: we have many different apps, web pages, and resources that helps us day by day with our learning. Technology is CRUCIAL. We use it everyday, for lots of different things. So, many people, including myself, use technology in their PLE, because it is an easier and faster way of organizing, of finding information, of planning, and it is really entertaining too. Some web pages: thinglink, blogs, Wikipedia, youtube...
Thank you for your time! Have a nice day 💛
